Because Jabber is an open standard, Jabber compatible clients have been created for all major computer platforms, including Windows, Macintosh, Linux, PocketPC, Java and many others.

If you are using Microsoft Windows, one popular and free client is Exodus.

If you are using Linux or FreeBSD, your computer may already have GAIM installed.
