Jim Y. Li, Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Halloo Communications is the latest startup in a series of
successful ventures founded and grown by Mr. Li during his nearly 16
years in the networking and telecommunications industry. Prior to
founding Halloo, he served as founder and Chief Technology Officer of
Whistle Communications, which was acquired by IBM Corporation. For the
six years before that, Li served as Chairman of the Board and CEO of
Tribe Computer Works, until the company was acquired by Zoom
Telephonics. After receiving his S.B.E.E. and S.M.E.E. degrees from
the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he worked at the investment
firms Morgan Stanley & Co. and CS First Boston, before venturing into
the high tech industry.
Daniel Joensen, Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Joensen is responsible for both Operations and Finance at Halloo. He has taken an active role in the packaging and deployment of key
new products, including the company’s new FlexCall ManagerTM
Hosted Call Center service. His background includes leadership positions in
several successful technology-driven startups during the past 15
years, including Advertising.com (sold to AOL in 2004), Security Bank
Direct Lending (acquired by Marshall & Ilsley), and the consulting
firm Mitchell Madison Group (a McKinsey & Company spinout sold to USWeb/CKS).
Mr. Joensen received his B.S. and M.S. in computer science from
University of Copenhagen and an S.M./M.B.A. from MIT Sloan School of
Management.
